Tinubu Provides Succour For Benue Flood Victims. The recent floods in Benue State have left thousands of people homeless and in desperate need of assistance. Thankfully, the wife of the APC presidential candidate in 2023, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, has generously provided succour for the victims.
Sen. Tinubu, who is also the Co-Chairman of the Tinubu-Shettima Women Presidential Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC), donated the sum of N10 million into the Benue State Emergency Relief Fund through the State Government and also provided clothes, food, and other essential items worth over N20 million for the victims.
The former First Lady of Benue State and APC House of Representatives Candidate for Gboko/Tarka Federal Constituency, Her Excellency, Mrs. Regina Akume, also donated cartons of noodles, spaghetti, sugar, rubber cups, disposable plates, beverages, and other food items worth millions of naira.
They both made the announcement during a visit to the flood victims in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, on Monday, October 24, 2022.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Candidate in Benue State, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, and his running mate, Dr. Sam Ode, as well as the Benue State Chairman of the APC, Comrade Austin Agada, and many other prominent party officials, were on hand to receive Sen. Tinubu.
The wife of Senator Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Presidential Candidate of the APC, was accompanied on the visit by the wife of the APC Vice Presidential Candidate, Mrs. Nana Shettima, the First Lady, and wife of the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Her Excellency, Aisha Bello Matawalle, and wife of the Honorable Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Mrs. Regina Akume.
Speaking at the event, the incoming governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, thanked Mrs. Tinubu for providing succor to the Benue victims. Saying that the kind gesture is a welcome development and hoping that it will go a long way in alleviating the many challenges faced by the victims.
