The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has vehemently denied rumors that his name was removed from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Speaking at a press conference in Zone C, Fr. Alia dismissed the allegations as the desperate tactics of his political opponents, whom he described as “noisemakers, fakers, and fraudsters who are afraid of going into the general elections with him on the ballot.”

Fr. Alia was resolute in his stance that there is no crisis in the Benue APC and maintained that his name was never removed from the INEC portal at any point in time, contrary to the claims made by the propagandists.

He further stated that the rumors were designed to sow confusion and discourage his teeming supporters from working hard towards ensuring his victory and that of other APC candidates at the polls.

The APC gubernatorial candidate urged his supporters to disregard the rumors and focus on the forthcoming elections. He reiterated his commitment to the development of Benue State and called on all stakeholders to put aside their differences and work together towards achieving a common goal.

Fr. Alia’s rebuttal of the rumors has brought a glimmer of hope to his supporters, who have been anxious over the recent developments. With his name remaining intact on the INEC portal, it is now evidently clear that the Benue APC is united in its support for Fr. Alia, and they will stop at nothing to ensure that he emerges victorious in the 2023 general elections.
