The entire people of Jemgbagh extraction of Benue Northwest senatorial district have accepted the lead governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Rev Fr. Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia, and blessed him with a charge to go out, campaign, and win the Benue 2023 governorship election.
This was after the people of Jechira went to notify and present their very own Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia to his mother’s kinsmen-Jemgbagh and equally sought their consent and support as he joined partisan politics with an intent to rescue Benue from the abyss of misrepresentation and bad governance.
Speaking during the presentation at Elder Haa Orpin’s compound, Yandev, Gboko local government area of Benue State, the former chairman of APC, Vandeikya local government, Hon. Alhaji Abubakar Aseer Ihongo, explained how diligently they have served other intermediate areas when it was their turn to produce a governor and humbly solicited support from Jemgbagh, emphasizing that Fr. Dr Hyacinth Alia is their son and he is humbly disposed to guarantee good governance and serve the Benue people in the best way possible.
Corroborating, ElderJoseph Igo Yawe and Elder John Penda, Chairmen of Vandeikya and Konshisha Elders’Forum respectively, underscored the need for Jechira to produce a governor and the necessity for the candidature of Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, pointing out that Fr. Alia has associated with the downtrodden, the weary and the poor, and he has the requisite to reposition Benue State on the path of good governance and infrastructural development just as they promised not to bring another aspirant to seek support from Jemgbagh again.
On his part, Fr. Alia expressed gratitude to the Jemgbagh people for the warm acceptance accorded him, stating explicitly his intention to lead and change the negative political narratives in the state.
Responding separately, the chairman, Jemgbagh Elders Forum, Elder Haa Orpin, Elder Ahembe Ikyo for Gboko, Elder Augustine Tse for Buruku and ElderJe Ahungwa James for Tarkar, both accepted Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia and promised to give him total support with a view to ensuring that he becomes the next governor of Benue State.
They prayed for him, blessed him and advised him to remember Jemgbagh when he is enthroned as governor of the state.
Fr. Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia later visited separately the APC party caucus and Stakeholders all in Gboko town. Both groups received him happily with a promise to unflinchingly support him to actualize his political dream and take Benue State out of the quagmire of poverty and underdevelopment.
