The Governor-elect of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, will be inaugurating members of the Inauguration/Swearing-in Sub-committees tomorrow, May 8, 2023, at the Lush Event Centre in Makurdi. The inauguration ceremony is scheduled to commence at 12:00pm, and all members are expected to be seated by 11:30am.

You may recall that on Friday, 5th May 2023, Fr. Alia approved the list of members to serve in the 12 sub-committees that were constituted by the Transition Committee of the incoming administration. The subcommittees have been tasked with planning a remarkable and inspiring inauguration and oath-taking ceremony for the Governor-elect on May 29, 2023.

The Director of Communications to the Governor-elect, Sir Tersoo Kulas, announced in a statement that the subcommittees have been given the mandate to organize activities that will herald the main event. Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia urged the subcommittees to meet as soon as possible and draw up their budgets for submission to the Secretariat for consideration and approval, as time was of the essence.

The statement further disclosed that Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, Comrade Austin Agada, Chief Stephen Lawani, Dan Ashiekaa, and all Local Government party chairmen in the state will oversee the successful operation of all the subcommittees.

The list of sub-committees is jointly signed by Chief Mike Iordye and Dan Ashiekaa, Chairman and Secretary of the Transition Committee respectively.
