In a bid to revolutionize education and empower teachers, the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has unveiled a groundbreaking initiative aimed at training all public school teachers in the state.
This announcement was made during the Grand Finale of the Igede Agba Festival and Prayer Summit, held at the Oju LG Pavilion.
This is the first of its kind in the history of Benue State’s educational journey since gaining independence. With this move, Governor Alia is pioneering a transformative era for education in Benue State, promising a brighter and more prosperous future for generations to come.
Governor Alia’s commitment to improving the quality of education in Benue State was evident as he articulated his vision during the event, held on September 8, 2023.
He expressed, “The Benue State Government, through the Ministry of Education, is currently working to enhance the quality of education by providing comprehensive training for all teachers in public schools within our state.”
The governor’s dedication to this endeavour signifies a pivotal moment in the state’s educational landscape. With this initiative, he aims to elevate teaching standards, ultimately benefiting students and shaping the future of Benue State.
Joining Governor Alia at this auspicious occasion were prominent figures, including the former First Lady of Nigeria, Dr. Mrs. Patience Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, represented by Rt. Hon. Idris Salman from Kogi State. Their presence underscores the national importance of this initiative and its potential to set a benchmark for educational reform.
The event itself was meticulously organized by Rt. Hon. David Ogewu and the entire Igede community, showcasing the collaborative effort to promote unity, peace, and prosperity.
